在言句下討生活的人有兩種情形；

There are two kinds of people who live under the great influence of others’ words and comments:

一者為言句不順耳而生煩惱，

First, those who are deeply troubled and vexed by unpleasant remarks and negative comments, and

一者為言句的意境而探究竟；

Second, those who probe into the layers of meanings in others’ words and comments.

前者是為業而轉的可憐蟲，

The former are pitiful wretches whose lives are in the command of karma.

後者是遠離生死的超脫者。

The latter are people who transcend beyond the world of life and death.

當一個人起心動念之時，

Once one makes a resolute decision about what to do

產生了毅然的決定之後；

After calculating and weighing all the situations in his/her mind,

縱使是錯了，

Even when he/she realizes that he/she makes some mistakes,

也會不惜護短，

He/she will by all means try to conceal his/her mistakes

而強調自己具有足夠的理由！

By finding as many justifiable excuses as possible.

知識是經驗的積和，

Knowledge comes from the accumulation of experiences.

智慧是知識的表現；

Wisdom is the application of knowledge.

而且是「適時，適地，適人，適境」的特出言行！

In addition, it is revealed by outstanding speech and deeds given or done to

the right person at the right moment and place in the right circumstances.

所以，經驗愈多，知識愈廣，

Therefore, the more experiences and broader knowledge one has

智慧也就愈高！

The higher wisdom one gains.
