容忍的目的是幫助對方，

Being patiently tolerant is for the purpose of helping the person one has long been putting up with.

勸勉的主旨是付出愛心；

Offering advice and encouragement is a way to show how much one concerns and cares about the person one advises.

唯獨缺少感情的言與行，

Those who act and speak without any concern or emotions,

才是完全的只顧收獲的自私者。

Are the ones who care only about their own selfish gains.

出離世間之法，

To develop a way of transcending the mundane world,

先得擁有世間豐富的資料；

One needs to accumulate as much knowledge of the mundane world as possible.

亦如良方，

It is similar to prescribing very effective herbal medicine.

先得蒐集那些可成良藥的樹木花草；

One needs to collect the medicinal herbs and plants first

然後識性配方，

And then learn the remedial effects of each herb and plant

纔能醫治病苦！

Before one can prescribe these herbs and plants and cure the patient.

學佛就是學佛，

Practicing Buddhism is to practice the teachings of the Buddha.

一切菩提薩埵，聲聞緣覺，以及歷代祖師的種種修學與成就，

The processes of practice and the achievements of all the Bodhisattvas, the Sravakas, the Pratyekabuddhas, and the great masters of the past

只是用來作為借鑑，

Are just for one’s own reference in practicing Buddhism.

也就是所謂的攻錯之力；

That is, one can learn from their experiences to correct one’s mistakes.

因為，他們同樣也是行者於學佛之時，

This is because they were once practitioners of Buddhism, and while practicing Buddhism,

能如法行持之後的成就者！

They were able to accomplish their goals by accordingly following the teachings of the Buddha.
