有心面對現實，

Whosoever wishes to face the reality

希冀獲得更多知識經驗的人，

And wants to gain more knowledge and experience

在深思熟慮之餘，

Must put into practice

必須邁開腳步，

And experience directly and solidly

行踐於實質體驗的道途；

Whatever he/she deliberates over and over again.

He/she should remember

切莫只當它是一種嘗試而已。

Not to take it just as a kind of trial or experiment.

如果， 時常發現ㄧ些自己的缺點；

If you often discern your own defects,

那麼，你會察覺出人人都是聰明的。

Then, you will notice that everyone is smart.

如果，願意知道ㄧ些自己的缺陷；

If you are willing to know your own drawbacks,

那麼，你會感覺到人人都是可愛而且可敬的。

Then, you will find that everyone is lovable and respectable.

佛之一字，

The term “Buddha” in Buddhist scriptures

於法典中有時是如來之名，

Sometimes refers to the name of a Tathagata

有時是覺悟之義；

And sometimes refers to the meaning of “enlightenment.”

研經究教的佛弟子，

If a follower of Buddhism who reads and studies Buddhist scriptures

如果不能辨別二者的涵意，

Cannot distinguish the difference between the two,

那將永遠不能接近佛陀的思想。

He/she will never have any approach to the Buddha’s thoughts.
